What we believe - Week 4 - Confess

"If you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved." Romans 10:9-10

"If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives." 1 John 1:8-10
  1. The purpose of confession is humility-- Confession is admitting and taking responsibility for our sin by an act of our own free will.
  2. The power of confession is forgiveness-- "He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins..." (see scripture above)
  3. The promise of confession is cleansing-- "purify us from all unrighteousness..." (see scripture above)
No longer must you:
Live a life of guilt.
Suffer alone and carry the burdens of sin.
You are not hiding anything from God.
